Why are the prices so low compared to many other sites?
Because we want to build a large, happy client base that will spread the word about our services.
What is needed to make the site?
- Pictures! They are very important for creating a good looking, stylish site. Pictures of the outside of your home, the inside of your home and any unique objects in your home make great pictures!
- A listing of pages that you want for your site. We can create a typical site, but let us know what main areas your funeral home focuses on. For example most funeral home sites have the following pages: about us, obituaries, directions, history, preplanning, services, our locations, grieving, resources, preplanning, etc
- Some more unique pages you can add are very important to making your funeral home 'that something special'. Some unique pages that we have done in the past included a page just for the kid's area, merchadise pages, a virtual tour (this is a extra fee in most cases), special services, or whatever you like that sets you apart from the rest.
- Text for the pages you want. Once we have agreed on the pages that you want, you must provide the bulk of the content for those pages. We can create some content, but we need a base to work within. A rule of previous experience: the more content you can provide us and the happier you will be with your site.
- Send us all phamplets, pictures, business cards, images, advertisements, newspaper articles, etc. as you can!
With more content to incorporate into your site, we can build a better, richer and more satisfying web site. Your goal is to give us more pictures and content than we can handle. We will refine the stack of information and whittle it down to a concise, professional site that fits your funeral home's unique style.
What is the process for my site creation?
Once we have your content we will make a draft site. If you don't like it we will change it or make a new draft site. Once we are set on the general design we will create all of the pages and change anything on your feedback. When we are both satisfied the site will be moved to YourFuneralHome.com and it will become online. You will be given a username and a password to log in to the obituary system to begin managing that portion. We can walk you through how to use the system.
How long will it take to get my site online?
Once all the required materials are in our hands, expect to be online within a month.
What .com or .net or .org name do I get?
You may pick your own domain name. You can also have multiple domain names that both go to the same website. To get started, go to godaddy.com and start searching. Once you have found something you like that is available, just let me know and I will take care of registering it and getting it ready to be YOUR website. ".com" domains are most common, but you may find ".net" or ".org" to also be suitable. Domain prices cost about $10 a year each to own.
How can I get support?
If you need support, send us an email. We will contact you via email or phone to resolve the issue. For training and support we also have the ability for you to 'let us' onto your computer. We temporarily move into your computer to control the mouse and keyboard, but we both can see your screen and communicate over the phone.
